In the component one the first theme that I had explore was 'Face Value' a first thought I had when doing the themes was interesting as it was a new experience. In the first theme of 'Face Value' it was difficult since I was not use to having my face seen, however it gave me a new experience. When choosing 'Cindy Sherman' as my main artist to take inspiration for my final project. As I done research of her I had to use many source to make sure that the information I was using was corrected and not false information. I had discovered her through the list of artist that was given to me. From the research I had found that Cindy tends to dress up when it comes to taking picture. When taking photos of myself in different outfits with different angles it was a struggle since I did not want my face to be in the image but after the first few trails I had gotten use to having my face in the image. The thought process was interesting since I had gone through a few idea but the main idea was to dress up and take images of myself as some would show my face whilst other would show my face. The whole process and the developing the idea was a challenge since I could not think of other ways to develop the or how to make it into a different outcome from the previous outcome. The different materials and techniques that was used during the process it was different for each outcome since they used a different materials and techniques. The most challenging about working with my artist was the idea of showing my face in the photos. But as the time went on it was much easier in the end.
Using my website to tracking my process through the photos that I have taken along with taking in how I would talk about the things that I would keep and the things that I would not keep. Along with how I would improve the previous outcome and show that into the new outcome. In the 'Online Exhibition' I hadn't used any images since I thought the images was not the best unlike my second theme of 'Constructed Landscape'
When it had came to making my final piece I had an idea of doing a series of chemigrams with mounting them onto wooden beams. When making the chemigrams it was difficult at first since I did not know what to so, so I had use bleach and coloured ink (mainly pink). The process was fun since I would do what ever I want with the bleach and ink so I just make drip effects along with making new shapes onto the photogram. As for the use of ink I had used it to stain any of the white part of the photograms where I thought the pink would look best. If I had more time I would of had made the layer out of the final piece much more flowy since I wanted to hang the image at first but I felt like I didn't have enough time. I think I had successfully matched the theme of 'Face Value' since I showed the ways that and techniques that can be use when taking photos about a person or about myself.
Constructed Landscape
In the second theme of 'Constructed Land' it was much easy I think since it did not need to have my face since it more focused on landscape that we can construct on our own way. In the artist that I was most interested in 'Stephen Gills' since he had the use of flowers in his work. During the research that I had done I had to use different source to make sure that I was using the correct information. I had mainly used his website as my main source of information since I knew it would be the most accurate. My ideas had changed through out since the different techniques that I was using was also changing since each one was different.
When it had come to the all the different experiments it was not a challenge since I had a constant idea with the use of dried flowers since I took the inspiration from the artist that I had chosen since they also had the use of flowers as well. The only changes that I had made was the use of the images since I had changed them from a day time image to a night time image. Along with the placement of the flower since I had decided to rip up the images in different direction. As I can use the flowers in a way to cover up the rips with using the lightbox to shine light through the pictures. The most challenging part was how to position the flowers without covering the images too much. Using my website as a way to track my process is the same way as in theme on since I had taken photos to show the steps that I had taken. Along with how the cutting process when it had came to the final piece since it's show the process when I had cut the outline of an image. Since the 'Online Exhibition' I had only used all the images that I thought was the best since I was proud of them the most.
When it had came to the final piece I wanted to do something different since I didn't use this idea before. I had used the frame to give me a guide on how I wanted to lay out my final piece since I wanted to do a piece where I used my dried flowers. I was happy to have a use of flower since I found it as it gave my images more texture along with a bold colour change but also that the flowers would on the edge so that it makes the image looks kind of 3D edge to it. The personal view I hope it had was that people can see the beauty of nature in the rush city life.
